Grupo Santa Rita gana medallas en Catad’or Wine Awards 2016
Un total de cinco medallas de oro recibió Grupo Santa Rita en el concurso Catad’Or Wine Awards 2016. Considerado como uno de los concursos de vinos con mayor trayectoria en el país y uno de los más reputados del nuevo mundo.
De esta manera, Santa Rita se convirtió en la segunda viña chilena que obtuvo el mayor número de medallas de oro en el certamen. Los vinos premiados fueron Triple C Cabernet Fanc – Cabernet Sauvignon – Carmenere 2011, Floresta Cabernet Franc 2012, Casa Real Carmenere 2013, Bougainville Petite Sirah 2012 y Carmen Gran Reserva Syrah 2013. Los dos primeros vinos recibieron una calificación de 90 puntos cada uno. Mientras los tres restantes obtuvieron 89.67, 89.33 y 89 puntos, respectivamente.
Asimismo, el Grupo recibió dos medallas de plata por sus vinos Carmen Winemaker’s Black Carmenere 2012 y Casa Real Syrah 2014.
Esta 21ª versión del concurso Catador contó con la participación de 110 viñas de diferentes tamaños. Participaron más de 515 muestras, 84 de las cuales son espumantes de Brasil, Chile y Argentina. Convocó en Chile a un jurado compuesto por 40 expertos de 12 países exportadores. Entre ellos China, Canadá, Japón, Hong Kong, Francia, México, Brasil, Hungría. También productores como España, Nueva Zelanda, Argentina, y Chile. Fue presidido por el enólogo nacional Sergio Correa Undurraga.The Santa Rita Group won a total of five gold medals at the 2016 Catad’Or Wine Awards, one of the longest running wine competitions in Chile and one of the most highly respected in the New World.
The honors positioned Santa Rita second among Chilean wineries for most gold medals won at the competition. Our highest ranked wines were the 2011 Triple C Cabernet Franc-Cabernet Sauvignon-Carmenere, the 2012 Floresta Cabernet Franc, the 2013 Casa Real Carmenere, the 2012 Bougainville Petite Sirah, and the 2013 Carmen Gran Reserva Syrah. Both the Triple C and Floresta were awarded 90 points, while the three remaining wines obtained scores of 89.67, 89.33, and 89 points, respectively.
The Group also received two silver medals for its 2012 Carmen Winemaker’s Black Carmenere and 2014 Casa Real Syrah wines.
This year was the 21st version of the Catad’or Wine Competition, with 110 wineries of varying sizes competing with 515 different wines, including 84 sparkling wines from Brazil, Chile, and Argentina. The jury for the Chilean event included 40 experts from 12 importing countries including China, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, France, Mexico, Brazil, and Hungary, along with wine producers from Spain, New Zealand, Argentina, and Chile. The jury was chaired by Chilean winemaker Sergio Correa Undurraga.
