Protegido 2011 among the Top 100 Andes wines of James Suckling

Protegido 2011 among the Top 100 Andes wines of James Suckling. After being awarded 93 points in James Suckling’s Tasting Report on Chile, the ultra premium Cabernet Sauvignon Protegido 2011 was also included in the American critic’s Top 100 Andes Wines of 2015.

With this ranking, James Suckling invites to consumers to discover the greatness of the Andes through 100 wines from Chile and Argentina, including Protegido 2011 for its intense and deep red color, expressive aroma of fruits, tobacco and spices.

Following this outstanding recognition, Viña Maipo’s Protegido was invited to participate in the Great Wines of the Andes fair, organized by the critic in October in New York. Along with other “Top Wines” from Chile and Argentina, Protegido was presented by winemaker Max Weinlaub before an audience of over 500 people, being tasted by wine industry professionals, journalists and consumers.

Made with grapes from the Quinta de Maipo vineyard, located in the renowned area of Maipo Alto, this Cabernet Sauvignon is the result of the exceptional work of Max Weinlaub and his enological team who, along with the winery’s Agricultural Area, have managed to give life to a true exponent of the concentration, elegance and expressiveness of the Maipo Valley.
